And on that note, we started a discussion here about risk – by definition, risk is the potential of gaining or losing something of value. Sounds pretty clear, right? But, even that definition is rife with "potential" for misunderstanding or miscommunication. What is of value to you, may be of differing value to others. And hey, what do you mean "risk of gaining"? Isn’t gaining a good thing – how can that be a risk?
So, we have a little challenge … for you and for us. During this RRSP season, when we are talking about your retirement plans, let’s also talk about what risk means for you. Both in a positive way and negative. Let’s make sure that your plan is set up for your needs and goals and that we all have a clearer picture of what risk means for you.
